Contact: Lisa Murphy Address: 253 Wardell Rd Alstonville Business Website Phone: 0266280610 Visit our unique Hinterland Tourist Attraction set on a beautiful working farm with 172 acres of macadamia and avocado trees on the Alstonville Plateau between Lismore and Ballina. There’s something for everyone! Water Park, Playground & Picnic Areas A great alternative to the beach, young and old enjoy a long relaxing day in the grounds, surrounded by tropical plants and palms. Bring a picnic or pre-order a hamper from our Café. Garden Nursery, Gift Shop & Richmond Valley Wood Crafters Club The nursery has an extensive range of pots, plants, garden accessories and home décor items. It is also home to a broad range of local products from around the region, specialising in local Gourmet Gift Baskets. In 2011 our nursery will feature a fantastic new 7 day a week Village Produce Display, providing fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the farm to try, buy and illustrate the farming process. Bus and tour groups say our Gift Shop “is the best displayed and priced shop in the region” and our Wood Crafters never fail to impress. Macadamia & Avocado Orchards Macadamia nuts are harvested on site from April through to September and dehusked on the property. We even package our own range of Gourmet macadamias for you to take home – or try them hot from the nursery! Avocados are also grown, harvested and packed on site, along with a range of locally grown fruit throughout the year. Watts Cottage Historic Museum This museum houses the inspirational history of the founder of House With No Steps, Lionel Watts and tells the story of his plight to provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities. It features a Cinema room and educational display on regionally grown produce. Turning Point Café & Function Centre No visit is complete without a meal or refreshments in our stunning café. Named in honour of the site where Charles Kingsford Smith changed course on his way to Brisbane, this is the perfect place to soak up the serenity of the beautiful grounds of Summerland House Farm. Tour Groups Tours of the farm and museum can be organised by phoning 02 66280610. Groups are more than welcome. | | |||
